Concrete restoration can vary from substrate preparation for overlayments, to decorative finished floors. The method used in leveling a floor is determined by the range in difference between the low and high areas of the existing slab. Generally, if a floor has more high areas than low, it will be cut by means of a grinder. However, if a floor has more low areas, than more than likely it will need to be floated. Shot-blasting is another option for concrete floors that have incurred build-ups of adhesives and other construction materials.

In recent years, the finished floor that is gaining the most popularity is stained concrete. These floors are well-liked for their antique look, simplicity to maintain, and affordability. It also allows the customer to be as creative as they see fit by using scoring and multiple colors. In addition, with proper maintenance of the sealant, no chipping or fading will occur like in some painted and epoxy floors.
